The President came to the Marine Barracks, Washington to see the ceremonies that Johnny's unit perform every Friday (and Tuesday) night. It was a great opportunity to see the President and First Lady, so I took the kids and went into DC on Friday Night (July 24). The ceremony started with the band marching across the field and stopping at center to play "Hail to the Chief." Being a military wife has allowed me to see the current and last President, both, in person on two occasions. I hope that the kids will be able to see a President, in person, someday when they are old enough to remember.
The video at the very bottom of the page was taken on Friday during the President's visit. I didn't actually take the video, even though we were there. Also, Johnny is NOT in the video. He was in charge of crowd control and security since people were acting so crazy!
